2009-2010 YOUNG AUTHORS

It’s Young Author time once again!
Every year the CES PTA offers each student the opportunity to “publish” a book. Kindergarten and 1st grade students will write and illustrate their books during class time.

All parents are invited to a grade-wide Young Authors Tea to celebrate their child’s accomplishment. Although parent participation is not a requirement, parents will be missed when the students read their book to the class. The Young Authors tradition has given students not only a useful lesson in creative writing and project completion, but also a keepsake of their literary development at CES.

If you have any questions, email Young Author Chair Katie Ferrer, ferrerhome5@verizon.net . Happy writing to all the CES authors!

Dear Kindergarten Parents,

Kindergarten Young Author’s is just around the corner. The children have been hard at work writing about themselves. Now we need your help.

1. Save the file on your computer with a different name.
2. Make a title page (Title should be All About Me) cover page, dedication page, and tell about the author page. (The author is your child).
3. Please do not worry about writing the story as we have already written it in class. Print out these four pages in Portrait format.

These are due to teachers by Friday May 28th.

***Note: If you are still having trouble please let us know and we will have a parent volunteer help you. However, with 23 children in a class this can take a very long time. So it would be a great help to our team if you could do it on your own.

Thanks,
The Kindergarten Team
