REFLECTIONS     (More Info)
CES PTA Reflections is an annual national PTA sponsored arts program allowing children to express themselves through musical composition, photography, visual arts, and literature. If your child would like to participate in this wonderful, annual program look for instructions on how to participate to come home with your student each fall.

RUN ACROSS AMERICA     (More Info)
Run Across America Program (RAA) is a fun annual program designed to encourage the students and teachers to get out and get active! Each year students and teachers in grades 3, 4, and 5 are invited to participate. Each student must keep a log of the miles that they walk, run or jog, and turn it in each month. At each milestone students will be recognized with a certificate to mark their achievement.

SUMMER ENRICHMENT BOOKS
Summer bridge/activity books are offered each spring to help students remember what they have learned and prepare them for the following year.

YEARBOOK
The CES PTA Yearbook Committee puts together a yearbook to celebrate and capture memories of the school year for its students.

YOUNG AUTHORS     (More Info/2nd-5th grade template.)
Every year the CES PTA offers each student the opportunity to "publish" a book. Students write their own creative story, type it into a template, print and turn it in to their classroom teacher. When 2nd through 5th graders complete their stories, they each receive a blank book and cover, along with cut-paste instructions, so they can incorporate their illustrations and other creative ideas into their own book. The Kindergarten and 1st graders will complete their entire book in class. All parents are invited to a grade-wide Young Authors Tea to celebrate their child’s accomplishment. Although parent participation is not a requirement, parents will be missed when the students read their book to the class. The Young Authors tradition has given students not only a useful lesson in creative writing and project completion, but also a keepsake of their literary development at CES.

STAFF APPRECIATION
Whether it’ preparing a back-to-school lunch in August, monthly decorating of the staff lounge, an annual Giving Tree listing staff “wish list” items, dinners during Parent-Teacher Conferences or Staff Appreciation Week in May, through the generosity of CES PTA members, we are able to let the CES staff know how much we appreciate their efforts on behalf of our children.

TEACHER / STAFF GRANTS
CES teachers, staff and aids are provided an allowance to purchase supplies benefiting the students rather than having to purchase such items using their own personal funds. The need and value of the CES PTA Teacher Allowance program has consistently been proven year after year. It is by far the CES PTA’s largest annual expenditure.
